8 Wonders Exhibit

St. Mary’s Church included in 8 Wonders of Kansas Exhibit at
Eisenhower Library

The Eisenhower Presidential Library in Abilene and the Kansas Sampler Foundation are pleased to announced a
partnership to display the 8 Wonders of Kansas in an exhibit designed to help celebrate Kansas' sesquicentennial in 2011. The exhibit opened to the public on Kansas Day, January 29, and willclose on September 5. There is no admission charge to tour the Library exhibits. The Library will be open 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. daily.

Displays feature the top 8 Wonders in the contested rural culture element categories. St. Mary’s Church was an overall finalist in the 8 Wonders of Kansas and a winner in the 8 Wonders of Art element. Some of the stencils created by Joe Oswalt used in the restoration of the interior are part of the exhibit as well as many photographs of the winners, including St. Mary's Church. The photography for all exhibits is by Harland Schuster, a farmer/rancher from Morrill, Kansas.
