The Altar Society and Parish Council would like to thank everyone in the parish and the surrounding communities who supported the 2008 St. Mary’s Parish Summer Picnic. A special thank you to all the donors of auction and chance book items. Approximately 1040 suppers were served. The net profit was $22,522.62. This compares to a net income of $21,138 in 2007; $19,034 in 2006; $19,095 in 2005; $21,421 in 2004 and $18,155 in 2003. The auction raised a total of $8,034; bingo had a net of $1267.50; the dime toss raised $508. Thanks again to all those who supported the parish picnic, and parishioners who provided food and worked at the event.

The total proceeds from the auction came to $8038 which was an increase from 2007 when the auction raised $7000.  These included items such as: an oak bookcase donated by Nordhus Woodworking, and a ‘pork smoke out’ to be provided by Justin Schmitz with a hog donated by Maurice Feldkamp, and John, Don, Richard and Dean Sudbeck was purchased for $1200 by George Holthaus. The prices and names of purchasers of the quilts were as follows:
