It was another balmy Sunday; the rains held off and the St. Mary’s Church annual social, held Sunday, June 22 was another successful event. Many businesses and people donated items and that support is greatly appreciated. The total net proceeds was $28,210. The auction reached an all-time high at $10,644. A breakdown of proceeds for each stand and event is attached to the Sunday Bulletin for July 6, 2014.
The chicken and ham meal was enjoyed by a total of 1,057 people. The breakdown was as follows: 897 meals in the cafeteria; 160 meals to go. A total of 58 free meal tickets that were offered to donors were returned for suppers.
Quilts were purchased by the following: Brick Path: $400, purchased by Connie Huerter Turning Twenty Around The Block: $450, purchased by Bob Kramer Hexagons: $675, purchased by Michael Sudbeck Broken Mariner’s Compass: $475, purchased by Michael Bennett
Another unique item, a framed 17” x 12” Counted Cross Stitch Image of Christ, designed and completed by Gabrielle (Murphy) Headley, was purchased by Cindy Murphy for $800.
Here's another look at the quilts. The cost of material in quilts, much less the time required to make them, is significant. Thanks to the bidders and purchasers.
